The Defense Department recently selected Computer Sciences Corp. to support its Joint Test and Evaluation programs under a multiple-award blanket purchase agreement valued at about $100 million.

CSC will help DOD test and evaluate tactics, techniques and procedures to improve coordination as the separate military services attempt to operate more effectively as a united force. CSC's support will include engineering, analysis and test services for JT&E activities at the Office of the Secretary of Defense and each of the military services.

The $400 million JT&E Program is designed to nominate solutions to joint operational challenges, conduct studies of approved solutions, and then formally test the solutions that show the most potential.

About 85 CSC employees will perform the contract work, which entails providing program management, technical expertise and test and evaluation support at defense installations nationwide. CSC is teaming with 3D Research Corp., which will provide additional test and evaluation expertise.

CSC estimates the value of the indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity agreement, which was awarded Oct. 15, at about $100 million across five years.
