Maj. Gen. Robert Dierker is being assigned as director of command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (C4ISR) integration and deputy chief of staff of warfighting integration at U.S. Air Force headquarters in the Pentagon.

Dierker is currently assigned as assistant chief of staff, Operations Division, NATO Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe in Belgium.

Coast Guard Commandant James Loy has been appointed to the newly created post of deputy secretary for transportation security and chief operating officer of the Transportation Security Administration.

Loy retired May 30 after 38 years of commissioned service in the Coast Guard and will take up his new duties after a brief vacation.

"I am honored that Secretary [Norman] Mineta has provided me this opportunity for further service," Loy said. "I look forward to bringing my experience in management, security issues and the maritime domain to bear as the TSA grows from its transition phase to maturity. Along the way, I expect to foster close public/private partnerships with TSA's industry stakeholders in the longstanding tradition of the Coast Guard."

Pamela Brody has been hired as recruiting manager for Deloitte Consulting's federal government consulting practice, the company announced June 3.

Brody has spent the past eight years leading recruiting efforts at TMP Worldwide and D.S. Wolf Associates, focusing primarily on hiring, training and career development for information technology and financial services resources.

"Pam's experience with recruiting professionals in the Washington, D.C., technology marketplace fits well with our strategy for growth in this market," said David Johnson, managing director for Deloitte Consulting's U.S. Federal Practice.
