SI gets $6.8 million Navy contract

Company will provide professional and engineering services for decision support system pilot

The Naval Air Systems Command has awarded a contract worth as much as $6.8 million to SI International to provide professional and engineering services for a decision support system pilot project. The contract runs for a one-year base period with four one-year options.

Ray Oleson, chairman of the board and chief executive officer of SI International, attributed the contract win to the company's history as a Defense Department contractor and its skill in developing object-oriented operational architectures.

The company will work on defining the operational architecture for the decision support system, said a company spokesman. Navair, based in Patuxent River, Md., specializes in fighter aircraft.
