Johnson confirmed at OMB
As deputy director for management at OMB Clay Johnson III will have direct control of the President's Management Agenda
The Senate June 11 confirmed Clay Johnson III to be deputy director for management at the Office of Management and Budget, a position that holds direct control of the President's Management Agenda.
As the deputy director for management, Johnson is responsible for overseeing and bringing better management practices to agencies and programs. He replaces Mark Everson, who is now the Internal Revenue Service commissioner. Everson had been OMB deputy director for management since August 2002.
Johnson has a background in management in the private sector as the deputy director of the Dallas Museum of Art and president of a division of the Neiman Marcus Group Inc., a Dallas-based retailer. He most recently was President Bush's director of personnel.
