NCI wins Army contract
The company will administer networks of the Army's simulation program office.
NCI Information Systems Inc. won a $61.6 million task order to administer networks of the Army's simulation program office under the service's Information Technology Enterprise Solutions (ITES) contract.
Officials at the company in Reston, Va., announced today they won the five-year deal to support the computer infrastructure of the Program Executive Office-Simulation, Training and Instrumentation (PEO-STRI) in Orlando, Fla. The work includes asset acquisition and management, information assurance, network engineering, software and customer support, sustainment, and system maintenance, according to a Sept. 8 company statement.
"The chief information officer's vision to transform the way in which IT services are delivered to PEO-STRI customers is a significant opportunity," wrote John Grobmeier, senior vice president and general manager of NCI's Army Enterprise IT Operations Group, in the statement.
The work at PEO-STRI will begin this month. The deal includes four option years.
Last year, Army IT officials awarded ITES hardware and services contracts, each valued up to $500 million.
