Niku automates business case docs

The Clarity CPIC Accelerator was designed to help agencies speed up business case submissions.

Niku officials have released a new product intended for agency officials who are weighing information technology investment decisions. The Clarity CPIC Accelerator -- CPIC stands for Capital Planning and Investment Control -- is part of Clarity’s Integrated CPIC Solution offering.

The Accelerator is designed to help officials speed up the process of submitting business cases to the Office of Management and Budget. Other components of the Integrated CPIC Solution address other phases of the process, from selection of IT products to the evaluation of their performance.

The Accelerator offers automated generation and submission of OMB Exhibit 300 and Exhibit 53, the business case documents. It allows real-time monitoring of the submissions, collaboration tools and supports federal enterprise architecture standards.

The integration of the Accelerator product into the larger solution set is what differentiates Niku from competitors, said David Hurwitz, chief marketing officer at the company. Many stand-alone products automate one part or another of the process, he said.

"This is how agencies get their IT projects and programs funded," he said. "That's always going to concentrate the mind."
