DHS approves SI mentor-protégé arrangement

SI International and iDox will go after records management work in the integrator's first DHS mentor-protégé relationship.

SI International and iDoxSolutions will pursue records management opportunities under a mentor-protégé arrangement approved by the Homeland Security department.

The small business is the first participant in SI’s mentor-protégé program with DHS. SI will help iDoxSolutions compete for DHS business, provide project management training, and assist the company in obtaining a facility clearance. The integrator will also advise iDoxSolutions on achieving Capability Maturity Model Integration compliance.

A spokesman for SI International said records management will be the primary teaming focus. He said iDoxSolutions provides IT engineering, systems development and automation solutions in the records management market.

The companies are looking at several opportunities with DHS, the Defense Department and other agencies, according to the spokesman.

SI International decided to pursue a strategic alliance with iDoxSolutions in the course of exploring records management opportunities within DHS and other agencies. The spokesman said iDoxSolutions fits SI International’s rapid deployment approach, noting that the teaming arrangement will enable the companies to field solutions in a matter of months, not years.

Contract vehicles for iDoxSolutions include a General Services Administration schedule for IT services and a blanket purchase agreement with the National Institutes of Health. The company also is a subcontractor on NIH’s Image World2nd program.
