DRC gets $22.5M contract to manage Colorado network
More than 7,000 county and state workers can access the Web-based system for child welfare, child support and eligibility applications.

Officials from the Colorado Department of Human Services (CDHS) awarded a five-year, $22.5 million contract to Dynamics Research Corp. (DRC) to continue to support and manage a statewide IP network providing child welfare and other human services programs.
The new contract includes three one-year options valued at $16.4 million.
DRC has been working with the department since 1997 and initially implemented the network, known as the CDHS County Infrastructure, several years ago to support a statewide child welfare and youth corrections system including130 sites with computers, network equipment, e-mail, file storage, desktop applications and other services. The network has been further modernized since then.
The Andover, Mass.-based company provides operation and maintenance of enterprise wireless and land-based networks, database support, servers and storage, disaster recovery, and software distribution, according to a DRC press release.

CDHS is the second largest agency in Colorado state government and has a budget of $1.67 billion. It oversees 64 county social or human services departments, the state’s public mental health system, services for individuals with developmental disabilities, state and veterans’ nursing homes, and the state’s juvenile corrections system.
