Former GSA official Ed O’Hare to return

Ed O’Hare, former chief information officer at the General Services Administration’s Federal Supply Service, is returning to GSA, agency officials said.O’Hare will be assistant commissioner of FAS’ Office of Strategic Business Planning and Process Improvement. He will be responsible for the coordination and management of the organizational design and implementation of FAS, which GSA created earlier this year by merging the Federal Supply Service and the Federal Technology Service.O’Hare has a long history with GSA. Before he left the agency in 2004, he was assistant commissioner for global supply. During his tenure as FSS CIO from 1996-2001, he was responsible for the development of GSA Advantage, a one-stop shopping Web site for GSA customers.“O'Hare will oversee FAS strategic business planning to include the design and implementation of business process improvements,” said FAS Commissioner Jim Williams in a memo to employees. “He will provide national leadership and exercise management responsibility for policy, planning, development and execution of programs related to nationwide strategic planning and performance-based activities. Mr. O’Hare is charged with integrating FAS planning and strategy with financial policy, business systems and processes to support FAS’ strategic goals.”O’Hare has been a vice president at Dynanet for the past two years. He has also worked at Booz Allen Hamilton.
