Military needs offensive cyber operations
Rogue nations and corporate entities have been conducting cyber operations for decades, and it's about time that the U.S. military steps up, a reader writes.
In regard to "Maj. Gen. Lord is a groundbreaker," bravo on the tough words coming from Maj. Gen. William Lord on the proposed areas of operation of the Air Force's Cyber Command. The military's positive mind-set on "offensive physical operations" (i.e., bombing and strafing) needs to transform its information/cyber operations from defensive to offensive. Kids, rogue nations and corporate entities have been conducting offensive cyber operations for decades. It's about time that the U.S. military stand up and participate.
