VA signs up for OPM’s USA Staffing application

The software is configured to automate recruitment, assessment referral and notification processes.

The Veterans Affairs Department will use an automated hiring application designed by the Office of Personnel Management to help transform its hiring process. VA and OPM agreed to partner and put in place a multimillion-dollar, five-year interagency agreement, OPM Director Linda Springer said.USA Staffing is made up of integrated software configured to automate recruitment, assessment referral and notification processes. OPM staff designed USA Staffing specifically to support federal hiring rules, regulations, and related policies and procedures.The team will work with VA to deploy the system in the next three years. In addition to USA Staffing licenses, the interagency agreement includes multiple advance training sessions on developing effective prescreening assessments and train-the-trainer sessions, Springer said in an announcement today.Currently, 27 agencies use USA Staffing, which provides rating and processing of high volumes of applications quickly, initiating and tracking staffing actions, building assessment components, and managing assessment plans. The software also automatically:







  • Generates vacancy announcements.

  • Posts vacancy announcements on USAJOBS.

  • Accepts applications via Internet, phone or fax.

  • Analyzes applicant competencies and qualifications.

  • Rates and ranks job applicants.

  • Notifies applicants.
