Thompson joins Harmony Information Systems' board

The former HHS secretary is the fifth member of the board to accept the appointment.

Tommy Thompson, former secretary of the Health and Human Services Department, has been elected to the board of directors of Harmony Information Systems, a provider of software solutions and consulting services for the health and human services sector, the company has announced. 


Thompson, who was HHS secretary from 2001 to 2005, was also governor of Wisconsin from 1987 to 2001. A long-time advocate of welfare reform, Thompson has also focused on expanding services to seniors, people with disabilities and low-income Americans. 


Thompson is a partner at the law firm of Akin Gump Strauss Hauer and Feld, president of Logistics Health and the independent chairman of the Deloitte Center for Health Solutions.



Thompson is the fifth member of the board to accept appointment.
