GSA considers outsourcing schedule contract application system
The Federal Acquisition Service wants to replace the input program with one that can quickly process more than 14 million schedule items even though the data may come in multiple forms.
The General Services Administration may replace its Schedules Input Program, the system for uploading a contractor’s schedule contract application and catalog information on the GSA Advantage Web site. The Federal Acquisition Service is exploring options to outsource all the program's processes and the management of catalog data, according to a Federal Business Opportunities posted Dec. 4. A system replacing the input program must format data for new offers and contract modifications submitted by 18,000 schedule contract holders, the notice states. Contractors must be able to quickly process more than 14 million schedule items even though the data may come in multiple forms, such as Microsoft Excel documents and hard-copy catalogs. To conduct market research, GSA will host an industry day Dec. 17 at its Crystal City, Va., headquarters at 9 a.m.
