A European court granted Gary McKinnon, a British man who allegedly hacked DOD and NASA systems, a stay of extradition while it decides whether to hear his appeal, according to CNET.
Gary McKinnon doesn't have to face trial in the United States yet. CNET reports that the alleged hacker of U.S. Defense Department and NASA systems has received a stay of extradition from the European Court of Human Rights. That court will consider whether to hear his appeal, , which adds that the decision will come by the end of August.CNET reported that McKinnon said he tapped the U.S. systems "up until 2001 in search of data on UFOs. However, if convicted of the charges leveled against him by the U.S., which include deliberately deleting sensitive military information, McKinnon could face up to 60 years in jail."
