In the news: Hackers launch Obama-themed malware attack

Spam recipients are directed to a site that cripples their PCs' security, according to Computerworld.

Hackers have capitalized on Sen. Barack Obama's election to trick e-mail users into downloading malicious software, Computerworld reports.

According to Computerworld, hackers sent spam messages celebrating Obama's victory and directing users to visit a site for election results. However, users who click on the link are prompted to install an update to Adobe's Flash Player so they can view a video. But that link actually downloads software that compromises the computer's security, the article states.
