OPM: Discuss telework options before weather hits

The Office of Personnel Management is encouraging federal employees eligible to telework to discuss their work plans with managers in advance of Tuesday’s expected winter storm.

“The safety of federal employees and our community is our top priority,” OPM Director John Berry said in a news release. “This early announcement gives employees and managers the flexibility to stay safe and keep our government working.”

The Office of Personnel Management is encouraging federal employees eligible to telework to discuss their work plans with managers in advance of Tuesday’s expected winter storm.

OPM announced today the option for employees to participate in unscheduled leave or unscheduled telework on Tuesday due to weather conditions that may include, ice, sleet and freezing rain. These conditions could extend through Wednesday, and OPM said it will update the government’s operating status as needed and appropriate.

An update could include a delayed arrival for federal workers Tuesday morning.
