NASA teacher workshop begins

NASA has chosen 48 teachers to participate in this summer's Simulation-Based Aerospace Engineering Teacher Professional Development Program.

After reviewing more than 200 applications, a NASA review team chose 32 teachers and 16 alternates for this summer's Simulation-Based Aerospace Engineering Teacher Professional Development Program designed to help educators motivate students in the sciences.

Included in the internship team are math and science teachers and others from across the country, including Arizona, Maine, California, Alabama and Illinois, according to NASA.

From July 18 to July 29, teachers will hear presentations by NASA engineers and education specialists, tour NASA facilities, work with mentors and can investigate aerospace engineering concepts, according to the program's website.
