Obama signs appropriations bill

Government agencies are no longer working on short-term continuing resolutions.

President Barack Obama signed the $915 billion appropriations bill on Dec. 23. The latest continuing resolution providing short-term funding had been set to expire that same day.

The fiscal 2012 Consolidated Appropriations Act passed Congress Dec. 17. The legislation contains fiscal 2012 funding for most federal agencies.

A few other agencies had already had their funding set by a "minibus" budget bill that passed in November.
