VA slammed for doing end run around telework policy

Union leader suggests VA's telework policies violate the Telework Enhancement Act of 2010.

The Veteran’s Affairs Department is sluggish compared to other agencies' telework activity, according to a new Congressional Research Survey.

The department has identified 87 percent of its employees as ineligible for telework and some say it is discouraging telework participation, reports Federal News Radio.

Bill Preston, president of the American Federation of Government Employees Local 17, has written letters to lawmakers and agency leaders accusing the VA of imposing a cap on the number of attorneys allowed to telework, the news agency said.
