The work: Leading a governmentwide effort to eliminate redundant and outdated federal websites and improve how agencies serve the public online.

The impact: Federal agencies have reduced the number of websites by 20 percent, with further reductions coming in 2012.

The nuts and bolts: Under Campbell’s leadership, the .Gov Reform Task Force conducted the first-ever inventory of all .gov domains. She also initiated an online dialogue about the reforms, through which 1,000 participants nationwide shared more than 400 ideas and voted on the ones they liked best.
