GSA launches data dashboard for GWACs
According to GSA's Mary Davie, the new tool addresses needs voiced by both agencies and contractors.
A new dashboard from GSA consolidates non-classified data on federal IT purchasing via GWACs from 2004 to present.
The General Services Administration has released a new online tool to help agencies analyze their spending, IT planning, and past performances on governmentwide acquisition contracts.
The GWAC Dashboard, unveiled on Nov. 27, aggregates and consolidates all non-classified data on federal IT purchasing via GSA's GWACs from 2004 to present. The dashboard is updated daily, with publicly available spending data displayed in easily understood lists, graphs and charts.
In addition to data-driven IT planning and analysis, the dashboard assists agencies in monitoring their use of GSA GWACs, responding to data calls, and preparing for executive briefings. The tool allows users to build customizable reports for download, and dashboard data can be sorted by year, contract, federal agency, and contractor.
The dashboard is a response to requests for data by both agencies and contractors, said Mary Davie, acting Federal Acquisition Service commissioner.
"Over the past several years we've received feedback from our federal agency customers and our small business partners indicating that they need access to GSA's GWAC task-order data," she said. "The launch of this new GWAC dashboard is a direct response to their needs."
The dashboard's information also provides business intelligence to contracting companies, specifically small businesses, as they make strategic business decisions and target their activity in the federal marketplace.
The GWAC Dashboard creates a single point of access for all data on GWAC task order obligations, dollars spent, number of awards, agency and bureau activity, and those industry partners issued task orders by each agency.
