DHS releases solicitation for rapid tech program
The Rapid Technology Application Program will fund, develop and deliver new technologies within six to 18 months after awarding development contracts.
The Homeland Security Department has released its first contract for a new program to speed development and delivery of new technologies to first responders and within the agency.
The Homeland Security Advanced Research Projects Agency (HSARPA) issued a request for proposals for its Rapid Technology Application Program (RTAP) Nov. 28.
The RTAP will fund, develop and deliver new technologies within six to 18 months after awarding development contracts.
Through RTAP, HSARPA is looking for the rapid prototyping of 22 new technologies in the following fields: explosives, biological and chemical countermeasures; geospatial and information sharing technologies; electronics and hardware; and cybersecurity.
Mandatory white papers are due Jan. 3, 2006, and proposals are due March 6, 2006.
